I am a political economist working on climate change, currently based at Columbia University and its Center for Political Economy. I research questions such as why some governments spend more on decarbonization than others, why some central banks go green and others don't, and why carbon pollution is priced so unevenly across the globe. I also engage with deeper historical questions, such as how we came to see climate change predominantly through economic lenses.

My research has been published (or is forthcoming) in journals such as Perspectives on PoliticsPolitics & Society, the Journal of European Public PolicySocio-Economic Review, and Foreign Affairs. For a chapter of my dissertation—that I am now turning into a book—I have received an Emerging Scholar Prize from the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE). More recently, my work on fiscal climate policies has won the 2023 Emerging Scholar Prize from Foreign Affairs and the University of Pennsylvania's Perry World House.

You can find out more on this and much more on my projects site. You can find my CV here. Please also check out my twitter feed for news and opinions. Lastly, a lot of my work involves reaching out to the people who make the green transition work, so please feel invited to send me an email if you have any questions.
